v Spiritual Direction is contemplative. As you develop awareness, you will connect with the Unnamable, Invisible, Infinite, Eternal, Mystery, God - whatever you call "It" - in your distinctive way.
v Spiritual Direction is prayerful. Whether you sit in silence or pour out your heart, you will be nourished, inspired, challenged, comforted, strengthened and, above all - feel the companionship - of the Source of Life.
The spiritual journey is accessed through the imaginal realm. Like music, color, scent or flavor - the spiritual journey is experienced directly by the whole person. The language and the experiences, themselves, do not lend themselves to rational, objective description. Yet spiritual journeys have been travelled for centuries. Those who walked them have left us their stories and their maps. Though your map lies within you, our predecessors have described landmarks, sign posts and certain types of passages.
A spiritual guide is like a wilderness guide. She must be experienced, familiar and comfortable with the demanding, varied terrain of the journey, able to provide a safe, sacred setting for deep, attentive listening, encouragement, and utmost confidence in your innate wholeness and growing wisdom.
