- Mission
- Contributing to the long-term healing and peacebuilding of the Jewish-Israeli and Palestinian people
- Goal
- Involving the Jewish and wider community of Charlottesville in specific activities of the hand, heart, head, and spirit, which support the healing and peacebuilding of the Jewish-Israeli and Palestinian people.
- Hand
- Supporting worthy organizations which are already effectively involved in healing, co-existence and peace-building work in Israel/Palestine. There are dozens. See our "Tzedakka Organizations" list for our three (3) recommendations.
- Heart
- Workshops and classes which promote exploration, healing and the transformation of anger, fear, grief, shame, guilt and powerlessness into wisdom, compassion, inner strength, clarity, trust, self-knowledge and clear purpose - for personal objectives and to be a more effective agent of peacebuilding.
- Head
- Lectures, study groups and book discussions to deepen and expand your knowledge and understanding of the personal and collective experiences of the Jewish-Israeli and Palestinian people.
- Spirit
- Final Thursdays Interfaith Pray for Peace Gatherings. An evening of prayer, silence, song, reflection and sharing, bringing comfort and courage to our hearts and minds. Every final (last) Thursday, 7:15 - 8:30 PM at Gesher Center.
Gesher Center is a participating member of the Bet Midrash division of ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal.
